Pulled the Trigger

I did it. I just booked a flight to Orlando, FL, a hotel, and a two day rental from EagleRider. I’ll stay in Orlando the whole time, and I’ve got a couple of day trips planned – one north, one south. Both have a lot of cruising the coast involved.

Speaking of cruising, the funniest part of this is my choice of bike – a Harley. They’re actually among the least expensive rentals EagleRider offers, and the cheaper Triumph Bonneville and Thruxton options have no luggage and don’t seem as comfortable for my kind of riding. All models except the Sportster are the same price, so I opted for a Street Glide, most because it looks cool and comfy. As a friend pointed out, I won’t be attacking any twisties in straight, flat Florida, so a Harley may actually be a decent choice for the conditions. Besides, I’ve never ridden a Harley before – I might as well see what they’re all about. I don’t care – I’ll be on a motorcycle, and warm, in January. That’s what matters.
